Victoria Primary hailed by Children’s Fund

School has supported fund very generously.

A representative of the Tongaat Child and Family Welfare Society, Devi Naidoo visited Victoria Primary School on Tuesday, August 4 to present a certificate to the school for their outstanding contribution towards the Children’s Fund.

“The Children’s Fund was initiated after research showed the link between hunger reduction, improved nutrition and children’s learning. This fund involves children helping children and the monies collected helps to sustain the schools breakfast programme,” said Naidoo as she addressed the school.

Victoria Primary principal, Lajeeth Maharaj, guaranteed the school’s continued support for the Children’s Fund initiative.

“It is with the kind humanitarian acts of pupils of participating schools that allow the Tongaat Child and Family Welfare Society to attain their motto, ‘Our Community, Our Concern’,” said Maharaj as he pledged Victoria Primary’s future support of the initiative.
