Stanger Secondary turns 95

Pupils achieve personal milestones in language festival.

Stanger Secondary School turned an impressive 95 this year.

The school continues to dominate the educational arena in the Ilembe District by claiming the top spot once again as two pupils, Naomi Mathonsi and Bayanda Luthuli achieved personal milestones when they entered the Ilembe District Languages Festival and the Business Women’s Association of South Africa Banquet, respectively.

Naomi Mathonsi was placed first in the poetry section, which won her a certificate and a trophy for her efforts. Naomi is an aspiring poet, who will now represent Ilembe in the provincial competition taking place between August 27 and 30 in Pietermaritzburg.

Bayanda Luthuli won various prizes when she entered the essay-writing competition at the banquet organised by the Women’s Association of South Africa, and was granted a bursary of R10 000 towards expenses for her tertiary education next year.
