Umhlali Prep swimmers deliver at Durban and Districts Gala

Durban Prep emerged victorious, as they have done in 27 of the last 28 years, but Umhlali ran them close, finishing just 4 points behind in second place.

The Umhlali Prep boys’ swimming team delivered an impressive performance at the Durban and Districts gala on March 10 and 11, finishing in a close-fought second place.

On Thursday the boys arrived at King’s Park, ready to face off against the best teams from across Durban and surrounds.

Durban Preparatory High School emerged victorious, as they have done in 27 of the last 28 years, but Umhlali ran them close, finishing just 4 points behind in second place.

Their performance was so strong that Umhlali finished 50 points ahead of the third placed finishers.

The final results:
1. DPHS 172; 2. Umhlali Prep 168; 3. Clifton Prep 118; T4. Chelsea 109; T4. Highbury 109; 6. Glenwood 107; 7. Ashton 83; 8. Virginia 76. 9; Athol Heights 74; 10. Curro Hillcrest 67.
