iLembe Book Festival donates 300 books to promote literacy in KwaDukuza schools
Thanks to the collaboration of the Siyafunda initiative, schools in KwaDukuza received valuable reading material for their libraries.

To promote literacy among pupils, 300 books were donated to three local schools last week.
Zilungisele Primary School, Dr BW Vilakazi Primary and the Mbekamuzi Secondary School in Groutville each received 100 books from the founders of the iLembe Book Festival in collaboration with the Luthuli Museum and the Siyafunda non-profit organisation.
The book festival was officially launched at the Luthuli Museum last Saturday.
The donations included a diverse collection of books, targeting pupils of different age groups.
From pocket dictionaries to captivating short stories and career books, the donation aims to stimulate reading and help young minds to broaden their knowledge.
Representing the Siyafunda initiative, Ntokozo Ndlovu said the books were sourced from various publishing houses, bookshops, book enthusiasts and supportive organisations.
“This collaborative effort allowed the organisation to expand its reach and make a significant impact in KwaDukuza,” Ndlovu said.
