11-year-old Umhlali Prep pupil dominates on the tennis court
The Thembeni child currently ranks third in the Tennis South Africa KZN U11 rankings.
Eleven-year-old tennis sensation Zibusiso Ntuli, from Thembeni, is setting the courts alight with her undeniable talent.
She recently finished first in the U11 SPAR Tournament held at Ashton International College in Ballito.
Zibusiso, an Umhlali Preparatory School pupil, has been swinging a racket since the age of three.
She holds provincial colours and currently ranks third in the Tennis South Africa KZN U11 rankings.
Under the guidance of her father, author Lunga Ntuli, she’s aiming high, with her sights set on cracking the top 10 in the national rankings.
“I’ve played in the interprovincial tennis tournament twice, and I’m thrilled to be on the KZN team for next year’s competition,” she said.
Inspired by her hero, tennis legend Serena Williams, Zibusiso dreams of one day playing on the grass courts of Wimbledon.
Her message to other young players is to stay resilient and focused, no matter the obstacles.
“When things aren’t going well, don’t give up. If people look down on you, let it push you to work harder and prove them wrong,” said Zibusiso.
With talent, drive and support, Zibusiso Ntuli’s dreams are as bright as her future on the tennis court.
