SPAR Superstars winner an inspiration for peers
"You all have the chance to rise up and make your dreams come true" - Boikarabelo Motsoeoe.
Achiever inspires hope and pride THE stars shone brightly for learners across KwaZuluNatal in this year’s SPAR Superstars competition.
One shining star from Umhlatuzana Primary School, Boikarabelo Motsoeoe, a Grade Six learner, captured the hearts of voters far and wide, ultimately claiming the grand prize of a voucher worth R7 500.
The moment when Boikarabelo’s mother received the news of her daughter’s achievement was truly heartwarming.
Tears of joy filled her eyes as she celebrated her child’s success at the school. The aspiring young lawyer, Boikarabelo, beamed with joy upon learning of her win.
“I would like to thank Caxton, The Rising Sun, and SPAR for giving me this incredible opportunity. I plan to use the voucher to purchase stationery before January, making the new year a little easier. I feel truly elated about receiving this voucher – it’s something I never thought possible in my life,” she said.
Boikarabelo also shared some inspiring advice with her fellow peers. “You all have the chance to rise up and make your dreams a reality. You have the power to choose your path and change your ways to shine brighter. You can make your family, friends, and community proud, and become an inspiration to the world,” Boikarabelo shared.
SPAR advertising and sponsorship manager, Nozi Mkhize, had the challenging task of selecting the winning superstar in each category. She shared her thoughts on choosing Boikarabelo.
“At just 11 years old, Boikarabelo knows exactly what she wants – she excels academically and deeply cares for others. She recognises injustice and aspires to make a difference, standing tall and using her voice, which is truly remarkable.”
The school’s principal, Nomusa Sibiya, was overjoyed that her learners received the recognition they deserved.
“We are deeply grateful and honoured to have Boikarabelo as part of our school community. She is a soft-spoken, helpful, and academically gifted young lady – an all-rounder, indeed. I am extremely proud of her.”
