Ashton and Reddam compete in weather-affected set of fixtures

Friday's full list of sports fixtures were postponed due to the severe weather that hit the North Coast.

Although Ashton International College Ballito’s sporting showdown with Reddam House Umhlanga on Friday was postponed for bad weather, the schools were able to complete some fixtures.

A set of girl’s netball and hockey fixtures and some boy’s hockey matches were played.

Ashton’s netball teams had a clean sweep of wins against Reddam.

Ashton had a successful time in the girls’ netball, winning all six matches against Reddam, with two teams keeping shutouts, while only conceding five points.

Ashton’s girls’ hockey teams went unbeaten in their two games versus Reddam.

Ashton’s hockey teams also went undefeated. The girls’ U14As scored a dozen goals on the way to victory; however, the 2nd team played out a goalless draw. The boys’ hockey sides also went undefeated, winning both their fixtures, scoring nine goals without conceding.

The boys’ hockey teams scored a combined nine goals to nil in their two victories over Reddam.

Week 9 sees another full set of sports fixtures as rugby and hockey season begin.

The two schools now look forward to a full set of rescheduled netball, hockey and rugby this Friday and Saturday.
