The start of the 2026 school year at Ashton International College Ballito was marked by a series of memorable camp experiences for pupils from Forms 1 to 4.
The Form 1 camp at Infinite Adventures in Botha’s Hill focused on building confidence, friendships and a willingness to embrace new challenges. Divided into two groups, pupils experienced different aspects of camp life.
One group set off on a wilderness hike and overnight campout, which became a true character-building experience when a midnight storm rolled in. Despite limited sleep, resilience was tested and spirits remained high.
At the main camp, the remaining pupils enjoyed an evening of games filled with laughter, teamwork and friendly competition. Daytime activities, such as rock climbing, paintball, obstacle courses and water slides, encouraged pupils to face their fears and support one another, while weather-related changes on the second night highlighted adaptability and teamwork.

Form 2 pupils travelled to Greystone Adventure Camp, where two action-packed days were filled with physically and mentally challenging activities. Many learners surprised themselves by stepping out of their comfort zones and pupils returned home with strengthened friendships and a strong sense of achievement.
A shorter journey took the Form 3s to Seula Zimbili, where shared experiences proved far greater than the distance travelled. Team challenges, reflective moments by the Tugela River and a lively talent show encouraged courage, confidence and connection.
The Form 4 camp at T.O. Strand on the South Coast brought the journey full circle. What began as a leadership camp evolved into an experience centred on growth, friendship and teamwork, with beach activities, kayaking and time spent at Wild Waves Water Park.
Across all camps, pupils returned enriched, with stronger friendships, increased confidence and memories that will last well beyond 2026.
