While the indoor campaign brought mixed outcomes, Ashton’s outdoor netballers were unstoppable. All four teams went undefeated against Reddam Umhlanga, scoring a combined 132 goals and conceding only nine.

“We’ve laid a solid foundation, and as we prepare for the outdoor season, this is only the beginning,” said Taljaard.

Rugby

Friday Night Lights returned to Ashton with a thrilling set of rugby fixtures. The U15A team lit up the evening with a clinical 71-12 victory over Curro Salt Rock, showcasing pace, structure, and excellent support play.

Coach Kevin Buck praised their execution and maturity.

“The team displayed excellent support play, clinical finishing and a clear understanding of their game plan,” he said.

“This dominant performance signals a promising season ahead, with the U15 squad already laying down a marker as a team to watch.”

The much‑anticipated main match saw Ashton’s 1st XV take on Hoërskool Kuswag in front of packed stands and roaring school support.

Despite the loss, head of rugby Craig Currin hailed the atmosphere as one of the best yet.

“This was the first full school compulsory of the season, and I am so proud of the turnout from not only our students and their families but from all the other friends and families of Ashton in our greater Ballito community,” he said.
