North Coast youngsters golf with KZN sport stars at Kingsmead event

The trio came seventh in the finals.

Young golfers recently teed off at Kingsmead Stadium during the Stadium Golf competition alongside East Coast Radio Breakfast Show host Darren Maule and celebrity players from the Sharks and Dolphins.

The North Coast was represented by Carter Ross (9) from Umhlali Preparatory School and Keemaya Naidu (13) from Crawford International North Coast, who were joined by Shreya Naidoo (10) from Crawford International La Lucia.

Carter boasts an impressive golfing résumé, including titles as Junior Africa Champion, KZN Junior Masters Champion and U.S. Kids Season Champion. He has also finished in the top three at the Big 5 SA Open and qualified for the World Championships in the USA for four consecutive years, competing twice.

He was named SA Kids Player of the Year in his age category.

“I had the best experience playing the very fun and quite challenging par-three, 18-hole course at Kingsmead Stadium Golf,” said Carter.

2025 Junior Africa Champion and SA Kids Player of the Year Keemaya said the experience was unforgettable.

“I had a wonderful time playing with Darren Maule, Shreya and Carter. I cannot believe we came seventh in the finals,” she said.

Crawford International North Coast deputy principal Kerryn Viljoen, who served as a caddie, described it as an incredible privilege to watch the youngsters compete confidently against adults.
