Dinuphozo Primary School’s GradeR pupils were welcomed into newly renovated classrooms on Friday after spending years learning in vandalised facilities.

Thanks to a partnership between Siza Water and R&B Civils, they now have a safer and more dignified place to learn.

The newly renovated classrooms and upgraded school fencing were officially handed over during a Mandela Day ceremony attended by iLembe District Municipality mayor Thobani Shandu and Ward councillor Ali Ngidi.

The Grade R classrooms had previously been severely vandalised, with doors, windows and sections of the infrastructure damaged or removed, leaving the facilities unsuitable for the school’s youngest pupils.

Through a joint investment of about R300 000, Siza Water and R&B Civils restored the classrooms and upgraded the fencing, creating a safer and more welcoming learning environment.

The project formed part of the organisations’ Mandela Day initiative and reflects their commitment to supporting education and investing in local communities.
