Yes the bus was there and people were rejoicing, it’s the new year for crying out loud! Not even the residents seem to mind the noise. Most of them were outside their flats with camp chairs having a braai with their families and dancing to the songs the ANC bus was playing. I was there from the morning on the 1st until 2am on the 2nd, the bus left before 6pm and I believe the law enforcement did very well to manage the crowds.
People should learn to come to the beach to have fun and unwind and not to look for something wrong that the ANC did. Durban South Beach had a New Year’s Eve celebration, everyone was happy, no complaints from the residents whatsoever!
I’m starting to wonder if it’s really the noise that got Desiree to write the letter or the fact that it’s the ANC bus that was making the noise. We understand that it’s 2016, the local government elections are on their way and political parties are at each other’s throats, but I think there are more serious issues they can use to tackle each other rather than whining over a one-day celebration.
