I refer to Musa Mnyandu’s comments re “No room for ‘monkeys’ of any colour” (Courier, January 15).
Whilst I most certainly agree that Penny Sparrow’s comments regarding “monkeys” were totally unnecessary and uncalled for at a time when we, as the Rainbow Nation, should be pulling together, helping each other and doing our bit to making us all proudly South African – I did find it rather chilling that the likes of Velaphi Khumalo (and no doubt many more) would even consider “exterminating” all the white people of our country, as happened with the Holocaust!
There is a vast difference between thinking someone is a monkey, to advocating exterminating people, especially from a government employee who should, to all intents and purposes, know better! Is this really what some of our black brothers are considering?
With the start of 2016, let’s hope that the mindset of all South African citizens be one of unity and hope for a better future for this country in every way possible.
