I am a resident of Westbrook and travel daily to Ballito and know what the congestion problem is when coming from Westbrook, to proceed up the hill when entering Ballito at the first set of traffic lights near the Engen filling station.
The problem is that the traffic lights outside Ashton College on the way to Alberlito hospital have, on virtually every day this past week, frozen on “red” for traffic moving up or down the hill, whilst the lights controlling those wishing to cross from Ashton towards the Engen go off completely.
So, every driver is jammed and has to resort to treating it as a four-way stop, and proceed in turn one at a time. You also have the same problem at this set of traffic lights when trying to leave Ballito on the M4 going south.
Surely any technician worth his salt would be able to maintain the control mechanism which times these lights and keeps them working, and should do so urgently!
Hoping for the best.
