All lives are sacrosanct.
In the eyes of our creator we are all equal.
It is governments that create ideological differences amongst people.
These ideologies of separateness and superiority are further perpetuated by parents who indoctrinate the young minds of their children to think in an indifferent manner.
The basic human values of peace, love, non-violence, truth and righteousness must be instilled in the minds of children.
If these simple values were internalised one can safely assume that George Floyd and the many other citizens killed by police either because of racism or unwarranted violence could have been avoided.
Donald Trump is a strategist.
The killing of George Floyd deflected attention away from his dubious methodologies in dealing with the coronavirus in America.
News reports were consumed by this tragedy, while Trump’s response to the abhorrent violence and destruction to property can be construed as conveniently delayed.
Was he strategically looking for the opportune moment to intervene which he ultimately did?
While this was playing out, the threat of the coronavirus was forgotten.
Trump is seeking a second term of office in the White House.
Trump maybe capitalising on this violence to frustrate the black population so they can boycott the 2020 US November elections.
Divisive tactics serves only to alienate citizens and is counterproductive to democracy.
Ultimately, whether a person is killed in a home invasion, in a car hijacking, by a policeman or even the farmer killed on his farm, in the final analysis it can be emphasised that “All lives matter”.
