On my regular drives to Stanger, I notice so much sugar cane that falls from the trucks onto the roads – not just a little bit, but lots.
These farmers work so hard and pay for transportation only to have so much of the cane dropped on the roads before it reaches the scales to be weighed.
Nobody benefits and it just blocks the stormwater drains and goes to waste.
Why can’t the people responsible and accountable for the transportation of sugar cane get much better closed, caged trailers?
Is this the reason sugar is so damned expensive?
