Letter: It’s a tracing app!

"Are you so naïve to think that we are not traced just by being connected to the Internet, having a bank account, utility bills and, last but not least, our cell phones? Wake up!" - Simon Scott.

Simon Scott of Ballito writes:

I am so stupefied and shocked at the naivety of people, more so the person who created the video warning people against loading the Covid-19 app as it is a tracing tool. Really? And what did the government say, it was a nice app to get information on Covid?

No, they clearly tell you it’s for tracing purposes, and it is a great idea as it can provide one with alerts to the fact they have potentially been exposed to a Covid-19 infected area and/or person.

So, what is the harm in that?

Are you so naïve to think that we are not traced just by being connected to the Internet, having a bank account, utility bills and, last but not least, our cell phones? Wake up! If they wanted to really be sly and sneaky they could have simply forced Apple, Google etc to include the app as an integral part of an update to your phone’s software and you would be none the wiser.

So if you are afraid, I suggest you say bye to the world you know, pack up and disappear into the wilds completely off the grid, no bank accounts, no phones no electricity, nada, and you can become a ghost.
