Letter: A futile exercise

"To my understanding any girl that falls pregnant outside marriage is self-abused and she must face the consequences of her immorality" - Nelson Puckree.

Nelson Puckree of KwaDukuza writes:

The government campaign against gender-based violence is a futile exercise.

Abuse is not going to stop if we don’t pause for a moment and take stock of what is causing GBV. GBV is both ways.

I believe government needs to eradicate society of social ills and unnecessary teenage pregnancy.

Any girl that has a baby outside wedlock and refuses to identify the perpetrator must not qualify for child support benefits.

To my understanding any girl that falls pregnant outside marriage is self-abused and she must face the consequences of her immorality.

Most GBV is caused by child support benefits. It’s either the man wants the money to supplement his bad habits or the mother uses that money for unnecessary items and neglects the children.

This leads to arguments and eventually to assault.

To stop this nonsense government needs to stop unnecessary child support benefits.

This will also help to reduce population and stop this culture of handouts and freebies.

Covid-19 is an eye opener.

Should big businesses close down and there is no new investment then there will be no tax revenue to fund these unnecessary benefits lets reduce population and get South Africa working.
