Letter: Happy Christmas

"Despite having faced many challenges, especially health, safety and financial re Covid-19, may fervent hope still prevail with tangible and practical assistance being provided, in the true spirit of ubuntu by benefactors and philanthropic and religious organisations, in addition to financial and other health provided by the State" - Simon Timothy Dehal.

Simon Timothy Dehal of Verulam writes:

Prayerful best wishes to all persons, associates and families for a splendid festive season – albeit in lockdown mode – a happy Christmas and a blessed New Year.

Despite having faced many challenges, especially health, safety and financial re Covid-19, may fervent hope still prevail with tangible and practical assistance being provided, in the true spirit of ubuntu by benefactors and philanthropic and religious organisations, in addition to financial and other health provided by the State.

While Covid-19 has brought the world to its knees 2 positives have emerged.

Firstly, caring for the aged, needy and underprivileged by good Samaritans and philanthropic community-based and religious organisations; secondly, much of mankind has now placed much faith in looking in God for a suitable vaccine to be produced.

Please do not become complacent, irresponsible, careless and thoughtless.

Don’t get lockdown fatigue.

The 3 key requirements of hand sanitizing/washing, social distancing and wearing masks must be rigidly observed if we are to alleviate or stop the disease spread, noting the dreaded second wave now upon us.

A big ‘Thank You’ goes out to all health workers and allied personnel who have worked tirelessly in trying and precarious circumstances.

May God bless you all and keep you safe. Condolences to those who have lost loved ones, many of whom have succumbed to Covid-19. RIP dear departed.

May God bless us all here in our beloved Mzansi and abroad and keep us responsible and safe.
