Letter: Civils dept losing track

This weekend, the Ward 22 DA branch equipped themselves with masks and cans of white paint and we attempted spraying a number of potholes on Sheffield Drive in order to improve motorist visibility.

Ward 22 Councillor Privi Makhan writes:

Road conditions in Ward 22 are a burning topic, and rightly so.

We have road surfaces have have become impossible to manoeuvre for both motorists and pedestrians.

This weekend, the Ward 22 DA branch equipped themselves with masks and cans of white paint and we attempted spraying a number of potholes on Sheffield Drive in order to improve motorist visibility.

Resident Carol Church religiously does Hugh Dent Drive.

Last weekend, I attempted 6 other roads, a clear indication that the KDM civils department is fast losing track of the priority lists we are submitting.

Departments need to plan more effectively, as 3-month turnaround times for repairs to potholes are simply unacceptable.
