I am caring for a person at home who needs to shield / isolate and am taking all precautions possible.
I note with concern that in order to access one of the supermarkets at Lifestyle one has to walk directly between tables of people not wearing masks because they are eating and drinking.
Why are these tables so spread out from this café that it is now impossible to socially distance and avoid them without going all the way into the parking lot?
The other eateries on this stretch all keep their tables within their shop footprints – allowing an easy 2m passing area on the walkway.
Centre management spokesperson Tessa Woodley replies:
We take social distancing and all Covid-19 safety protocols very seriously.
As an open air centre, restaurants and eateries at Lifestyle Centre are able to utilise their outdoor space to provide open air seating options for customers.
However, walkways must be open and comfortable for customers to walk past easily and shop safely, so we will certainly address any restaurants whose seating is hindering this.
