Charles Munsamy of Tongaat writes:
It was heart-breaking and utterly shocking to see an alpha male monkey shot on the thoracic spine from behind using 4 bullets of a gas gun in the vicinity of Patakh Centre, Tongaat on or about Sunday, March 7.
The alpha male monkey was seen with fresh gunshot wounds on my balcony at Patakh Centre, in intense pain, shock and visibly distressed.
This troop usually travels from Umnamyinzana Park to Verulam and back through the bamboos, Patakh Centre fencing and into Huletts cane to their turning point in Verulam recreational area.
This male survived, but not without an infirmity.
