Letter: No hardship!

"Armed only with our umbrellas, we stood for about 3-and-a-half hours awaiting our turn, before being ushered into the hall where we had to register and wait again outside until we were at the front of the queue, to have the vaccination in the hall" - Anne Bolton.

Anne Bolton of Sheffield writes:

Last week about 300 stoic warriors stood resolute and determined in the pouring rain and biting cold wind waiting for our vaccination at the Townsend Park Scout Hall.

Armed only with our umbrellas, we stood for about 3-and-a-half hours awaiting our turn, before being ushered into the hall where we had to register and wait again outside until we were at the front of the queue, to have the vaccination in the hall.

No way was anybody going to leave.

Us oldies have been through the wringer of life, so the inclement weather did not discourage us.

We had arrived for our vaccinations and were not going to leave until we had had it!

The only damper (beside the foul weather) was the very late arrival of the health workers!

However, once they had set up, the process ran relatively smoothly.

ow we have to go back in 6 weeks’ time for the second jab.

Hopefully we will have better weather!
