#Letter: Town is a ghetto

"Political parties must publish their PR lists so that we can choose the party with good candidates. Some councillors have been occupying office for too long doing nothing" - Vengatas Reddy.

Vengatas Reddy of KwaDukuza writes:

It’s election time and aspiring candidates will be knocking on every door promising heaven and earth and once in power, they will give you hell.

Political parties need to be taught a lesson because they are not monitoring councillors and failed to deliver on promises. Our town is now a ghetto with filth, crime, dilapidated buildings, drugs and prostitution.

Political parties must publish their PR lists so that we can choose the party with good candidates. Some councillors have been occupying office for too long doing nothing.

It is sad leaders missing from this election race, namely Samson Pillay (who is fighting crime and drugs), Mr Ismail Asmal (an ex -teacher-who exposes councillors for lack of accountability), Michel Harris (ex -policeman), members of the Concerned Citizens Group, Nelson Puckree who is always writing hard hitting letters exposing worthless public representatives and Cas Annamalay, who as an iLembe councilor gave many people water stand pipes.

We need you to take back our town.

Now is the time to give your ward councilor the boot if he/she has failed you.

This election is not about party leaders but local bread and butter issues that affect us daily.
