#Letter: Inhumane nature of some humans

"One wound appears to be an injury caused by a panga or slasher strike, another a penetration with a sharp instrument or an air gun using specialised lethal pellets, and the other is obscured laterally" - Charles Munsamy.

Tongaat resident Charles Munsamy writes:

I have yet another atrocity to report – an alpha male vervet monkey with three human-inflicted injuries.

One wound appears to be an injury caused by a panga or slasher strike, another a penetration with a sharp instrument or an air gun using specialised lethal pellets, and the other is obscured laterally.

Its slow, laboured and sluggish movements suggests an injury to the spine and/or internal organ.

As a deterrent the Firearm Control Act 60 of 2000 should be amended to make it compulsory for companies dealing with pellet/gas guns to keep a register of sales and the full identities of purchasers.

The injured monkey was spotted on Friday afternoon at Patakh Centre on Gopalall Hurbans (main) Road in Tongaat.
