#Letter: Gratitude for Samaritans’ help

"Eventually a bakkie pulled up and I was greeted by the big, friendly smiles of Ballito Chloorkop Crane Hire guys Sydney Chiliza and Dumsan Hlombe, who offered to help" - Lisa Smith.

Lisa Smith of Ballito writes:

For a lady to have her car break down on a deserted road is a very unpleasant experience.

Last Friday morning, my little car decided to again test me, a week after it had its annual service.

I had parked outside a premises on the R102 but nobody was there.

When I tried to start the car, there was only a click sound, no doubt a battery problem I thought.

I considered calling a colleague but felt it was a bit out of his way, so I walked to the roadside and waved my arms.

Eventually a bakkie pulled up and I was greeted by the big, friendly smiles of Ballito Chloorkop Crane Hire guys Sydney Chiliza and Dumsan Hlombe who offered to help.

To the rescue – Sydney Chiliza and Dumsan Hlombe.

After a failed push-start attempt, their jumper cables did the trick.

These kind gentlemen also suggested where to go to get a new battery.

I want to acknowledge them for helping a lady in distress.
