#Letter: Save us from the visual pollution

"We have a beautiful coastal town that needs to be looked after and managed with taste and discretion" - Richard Noyce.

Richard Noyce of Dunkirk writes:

It is concerning to witness the uncontrolled increase in the number of street pole advertising we see going up in the Salt Rock and Ballito area.

It seems that every lamp pole is available for sale to have a massive poster stuck on it – from estate agencies to sex toy shops. How did this happen?

Far from being a sign of progress, what is happening is actually visual pollution and the downgrading of the area.

We have a beautiful coastal town that needs to be looked after and managed with taste and discretion.
