#Letter: Dog diners not on

"I approached the manager and pointed out that besides dogs taking up paying customers' space, it just wasn't on from a health point of view for dogs to be fed off the tables" - Kevin Reynolds.

Kevin Reynolds of Brettenwood writes:

My wife and I recently went for breakfast at a popular restaurant on the Ballito beachfront.

We had to wait for a table as the restaurant was full at the time.

When we were seated, we noticed two guys at a four-seater table with two pit bull type dogs sitting at the table as well.

The men were also having breakfast and were feeding the dogs at the table.

The manager circulating around the restaurant even chatted to them.

When we had paid, I approached the manager and pointed out that besides dogs taking up paying customers’ space, it just wasn’t on from a health point of view for dogs to be fed off the tables.

When a young mother took her toddler up to see the dogs, the one snapped viciously at the child.

Where is the pure common sense that this is not acceptable?
