#Letter: Police cars stranded?

"My guess is that either there are no spare wheels, jacks or wheel spanners available, or (hopefully not) simple apathy to have them repaired" - Kevin Reynolds.

Kevin Reynolds of Brettenwood writes:

I recently had an appointment with a police officer at the Umhlali police station.

He was delayed, and with nothing better to do I wandered around the premises and noticed no fewer than three police vans with flat tyres that obviously had not been used for some time.

I wondered why nothing had been done to return them to service.

My guess is that either there are no spare wheels, jacks or wheel spanners available, or (hopefully not) simple apathy to have them repaired.

Small wonder there are delays at times for officers to respond to calls when their presence is required.

Umhlali Saps had not responded at the time of publication.
