Sonia Parry of Salt Rock writes:
Grateful as we are for anyone who cares, what chance do our beach cleaning patrols have when more litter than we are able to pick up is washed down to the sea via drains and canals.
Those very innovative booms across rivers can help in a big way, but anti-litter education has to start at school level.
A case in point is Ezulweni Drive. Many pedestrians use the road daily. One can observe the empty foil and plastic trail that follows them.
Perhaps the local school can organise a clean-up of their road and get some publicity for their efforts?
It would be a great learning experience for the pupils.
