The question I ask myself every time I read the news or watch television, is where are those days when we did not fear leaving our homes wondering if we would return in one piece.
Those days are gone. Safety and security no longer exists.
Ten years ago everything was different. We were safe, our kids were able to play outside without any concern of harm and women felt sheltered.
Now we aren’t even safe sleeping in our own houses. Many years ago we never had to face the ignorant justice system we face now.
Then our safety was a priority and our police services were on the ball. Sadly, according to reports, many of them are now the ones involved in crime.
It is sad that while citizens are being murdered, hijacked and robbed in broad daylight, the perception is that the police services are ineffective and often have a no-care attitude.
Some are committed to the justice system but too many probably haven’t even heard the word.
Adding to the problem is the loss of our humanity.
Today, when we see a person being robbed, hijacked or becoming a victim of any other crime, we merely record the incident and post it on social media for likes instead of helping that person by calling for help
This also begs the question – where will we be in another decade? What future will our children have?
Humanity and justice are seemingly just things of the past.
