#Letter: Help available for special voting applications

With just 42 days until voting day on May 29, anticipation surrounding the upcoming elections is reaching fever pitch.

Voting day is 42 days away! The excitement around the elections on May 29 is palpable.

I have never had so many people contacting me with questions regarding voting. It really shows how invested South Africans are in these elections.

There are two things that are different in this year’s election. There will be three ballot papers, and voters will only be able to vote where they are registered.

If you cannot be at the voting station where you are registered, you can apply for a vote where you will be on the day. This is called a section 24A vote.

The special vote application process is now open and applies to voters who are not able to get to the voting station where they are registered on May 29, but can be on May 27 and 28.

If voters are disabled or infirm, they can request a home visit from the IEC.

If you would like assistance with an application for a special vote or a Section 24A, please feel free to contact me. I will be happy to assist.
