North Coast community champions celebrated

Readers name citizens who unselfishly volunteer their time for good causes.

We asked our readers to shine a spotlight on local heroes, and the response was overwhelming. The North Coast is brimming with incredible individuals who go above and beyond to give back, whether through conservation efforts, charity work, or countless other acts of kindness. Let’s come together to celebrate these champions of our community!

Amy Loader – Drs Patel, Sadabriss, Gounden and Nav Govender for their dedication to their patients. Helen Wolmarans and Neville Wolmarans for their love and passion for saving all reptiles big and small and teaching everyone how we can co-habitate together with all kinds of scary looking creatures. Genevieve Chisholm for all the love and care she pours into Flag Animal Farm. Caring for all creatures great and small. Wow we really do have a great community. Not just from my post but every single person above. Well done Ballito!

Dena-Maree De Grooth – All the paramedics and ER staff of our local hospitals.
Claire Lyn Macartney Black – Agreed with all the above. We are so fortunate to be spoilt for choice when it comes to good people! Karen Landman – Eduard Louw Operation Clean Tongaat also Henry and Mariska Grobler that help Eduard a lot with rebuilding Tongaat and making a difference in the lives of others, especially after the tornado that destroyed so many homes. Melissa Landman, previously Miss Ballito and currently Miss KwaZulu Natal, for still collecting items and helping different charities on a regular basis.

Ray De Bruyn – Brett Michielin for sure!

Tiffany Bishop – NSRI Ballito Station 41.

Colleen Rogers – Neville Wolmarans.

Dirk Conrad Coetsee – Prince from Everest who makes me coffee every day. I would have been fired long ago without him.

Pauline Tracey Pepper – IPSS medical responders.

Naomi Van Der Merwe – Riki Yoko for her dedication to trap and neuter feral cats.

Vanita Sheriff – I think Josh Daniel, our officials sould take some inspiration from him. He is the most honest person I have ever met. If we had more straight people who don’t take bribes our community would be a better place. We need more people like him.

Thabile Perceverence – Nkobongo Resources Center’s Zami Mngadi and Zinah Gwala, they bring a smile to our childrens faces. Thank you so much.
