The DA in the Mandeni local municipality welcomes the move by the municipality to transfer waste to the DCLM landfill in KwaDukuza.

This move comes after ongoing efforts to reduce the various costs associated with the responsible disposal of refuse.

Landfills are a critical environmental issue and the management of these facilities including transfer stations must be done within the ambit of the various regulations.

Far too many local municipalities continue to remain non-compliant within the environmental management space.
