Best of the Dolphins take a bow
The lads were not just there for the awards ceremony though, as Sharkie himself made an appearance and hung out with them for a while.
The 2017 rugby season is a wrap and The Great Railroad Brewing Company Dolphins gathered over the weekend to honour outstanding players.
In the U7 team Jayden Marais was awarded the most valuable player award while Logan Cumming walked away with the prize for most improved player.
In the U9 team Troy Dick and Dino Bezuidenhout were awarded the best frontline and backline players respectively while Warrick Becker was the most improved player and Matthew Harris the most valuable player.
Miles Liebenberg was the most valued player for the U11 boys while Joshua Keyzer was named the most improved player and Connor van Lille and Ndabenhle MKhize bagged the prizes for best forward and best back.

Moving to the big boys in the Dolphins’ second team, Wandile Kushu was named best forward and Stefan Lidderd the best back while Marvin Chakanyuka took the award for most improved player.
In the first team categories, Kenny Graney was named most valuable player, Muzi Luthuli best forward, Sean Steyn best back and Anthony Fivas the most improved player of 2017. Michael Cumming was awarded the coveted Chairman’s Award for his performance over the season.
The following youngsters were also selected to represent Durban Rugby Sub Union (DRSU) teams: Joshua Harris, Ndabenhle Mkhize, Ewan Miskin, Miles Liebenberg, Jarred Guilherme, Justin Dawson, Kevin Perty, Riley Wichmann, Connor van Lille and Brandon Jackson.
It was not just the ‘lighties’ who made it into DRSU teams though, coaches Michael Cumming and Gerhard Breedt will also be at the helm of DRSU sides while Kirston Block, Muzi Luthuli, Sean Steyn and Zamani Mthembu were all selected for the DRSU first team.
