Ballito FC makes huge impact in junior soccer leagues
The club now has a complement of more than 250 players, 82 of whom are from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.
Ballito FC has capped another fantastic year of football and has grown into one of the province’s most successful clubs.
Players, coaches and the wider footballing fraternity had a chance to look back over some of the season’s highs at the annual prize-giving last week.
The club entered 15 teams into the Durban Central Local Football Association League this year, as well as two teams into the Stanger Regional League.
Teams play competitive games from U10 upwards in six age group levels up to U17.
In those six age groups, Ballito FC managed two overall league wins, two second-placed finishes and two third-placed finishes in a pool of around 500 teams from 150 clubs.
The young stars added three cup finals to the trophy cabinet too.

Considering it was founded just six years ago, the results are nothing short of phenomenal and talk to a concerted effort behind the scenes to create success.
The club now has a complement of more than 250 players, 82 of whom are from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.
Previously disadvantaged players are coached and trained, transported to training and matches, sponsored with kit and boots and provided with nutrition on match and tournament days.
A mixed girls team also made its debut this year and proved a valuable addition to the BUFC community.
Ballito FC’s team of the year award went to the U15 squad who went unbeaten on the way to winning their league for the fifth consecutive year since first claiming it as an U10 team.
The BUFC U17 team also had a strong year and now competes in the fourth tier of league football in the country.
The club thanked their sponsors Nutri Vita, Bird and Co, Ray’s Kitchen, Strategix Engineering, iKhokha, eThekwini Cheese and Topbet.
