Umhlali victorious at Northlands rugby fest

They showed great courage and commitment and with the support of their family and friends willed themselves over the line.

Making history for the proud local school Umhlali Rugby 1st XV won the Northlands rugby festival on Friday, April 5. This is the first time a Dolphin Coast team has won the trophy and against some of the top schools in the province.

On Friday the heavens opened and it rained throughout the tournament and the players had to dig deep to keep performing at a high level in order to reach the final.

They showed great courage and commitment and with the support of their family and friends willed themselves over the line.

Head coach Gregg Howard and backline and motivational coach Peter Cameron have been coaching together for the past seven years and they were thrilled that their young players pulled off such a massive victory!

“We have an incredibly talented team with a strong pack and a skillful and fast backline,” said Cameron.
