International step-up for Tongaat film producer Keveshan Govender

While steadily building his portfolio with locally produced films, Keveshan Govender recently had his breakthrough opportunity on an overseas production called "Hallution."

From Tongaat to Bollywood, film producer Keveshan Govender has international ambitions.

The 19-year-old had been steadily working on locally produced films but last year got his first opportunity on an overseas production, the upcoming Hallution.

Shot over a few months in Mumbai last year, the project was Govender’s biggest yet, offering him the opportunity of working with a sizeable budget and recognisable cast.

“It was a fantastic experience to be there on set with director Feroz Qureshi in India. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve created,” said Govender.

Hallution has been largely completed and is now in search of worldwide distribution.

Through his company, KG Productions, Govender had previously lent his producer’s hand to Sugar Cane Boy, Kings of Mulberry Street and Diwali Dhamaka, among others.

But Hallution is by far the largest scale to date and tells a high octane story of love, betrayal and revenge.

A torrid affair, abduction and series of crimes are all on the cards for the cast of characters led by R Manoj Kumar and Aachal Tikhe, well-known to Bollywood audiences.

Hallution has finished production and is currently seeking worldwide distribution.

Keep an eye out for the Bollywood production with a local link come September.
