Business association launched
A new business association was launched for the eThekwini area in Durban North last week.
A NEW business association, which is affiliated with the Afrikaanse Handels Instituut (AHi), has been launched in the eThekwini area, the Durban Sake Kamer (DSK), on Wednesday 7 August.
The DSK’s mission is to assist members in obtaining business opportunities in a changing and challenging environment by, among others, providing networking opportunities; to strive to be a positive influence on the economic climate and the economic interests of its members and the broader business community and to form a collective bargaining group to serve business and public interests and join forces in the creation of wealth and a business friendly environment. It also hopes to underwrite sound ethics in a market-driven economy in cooperation with all stakeholders, including municipal authorities.
The association has called on businesses in the area to join the DSK, adding although the name is Afrikaans, it is open to all businessman.
The association said it needs strong leaders, and behind the scenes hands, to offer the skills to create a platform for success.
At the meetings, businessman and sports personalities will offer talks and give advice. These speakers include Dawie Roodt (from KykNet and also the director and head economist of Efficient Group) and Brand Pretorius, to name a few.
Membership to the DSK costs R300 per year. For a membership joining form, email dskdbn@outlook.com
