No leniency for bad drivers

Greenwood Park Police Station said no leniency will be exercised when dealing with inconsiderate, reckless, negligent, speeding or drunken drivers.

THE Greenwood Park Police Station said no leniency will be exercised when dealing with inconsiderate, reckless, negligent, speeding or drunken drivers.

Last week saw a number of accidents not only claim lives, but also injuring many and disrupting traffic.

“We caution drivers who drive inconsiderately, recklessly, with excessive speed, and those driving under the influence of alcohol that we will not hesitate to apply the law to its full extent,” said the station’s communication officer, Lt Elvis Naidoo.

“In the last month we have arrested a number of drunk drivers. Let this be a stern warning that there will be serious consequences for those drivers who disobey the law. Not only are such drivers putting their own lives at risk, but they’re also endangering others’ lives,” Naidoo added.

Naidoo said drivers who do not adhere to the law could face imprisonment and get a permanent criminal record.
