THE popular Old Mutual Carols by Candlelight at the Durban Botanical Gardens is on Friday 13 December.
The Durban City Orchestra, featuring a full cast of more than 40 members, will perform many of the public’s favourite carols. The city orchestra will be accompanied by guest solo artists, as well as a unique bagpiper element to the evening.
This year, Father Christmas will also be at the Kidzone.
Old Mutual sponsorship manager, Bandile Mngoma, said:
“Because Christmas is a time for giving, sharing and coming together, we want to spread this to those who do not have family and have little. Part of the proceeds of the ticket sales will be donated to a children’s charity in Durban.”
Concert-goers are encouraged to donate appropriate children’s gifts for charity. Suitable items include non-perishables, blankets and toys. Collection bins will be placed around the gardens.
Gates open at 5.30pm for pre-sold tickets and at 6pm for on-the-day tickets. Tickets are available online at www.webtickets.co.za
Tickets prices are R110 online, or at the gate for R130 on the day. Children between eight and 12 pay R50 and there is no charge for children under eight.
