Council must cut the grass

This path runs from Union Crescent to Lothian Road, however, the grass on the vacant land at the start of the path, and along the path, has not been cut for three months!

EDITOR – I am writing this letter as there is a public pathway which many people use to go work and children to go to school.

This path runs from Union Crescent to Lothian Road, however, the grass on the vacant land at the start of the path, and along the path, has not been cut for three months! The path is hardly visible, snakes have been spotted there and many people slip on the wet grass as it is so long.

It is the DA’s duty to make sure the ward is looking neat and is clean. I trust that something will be done about this situation urgently.

Frustrated

Durban North

Ward councillor Dean Macpherson responds:

I will hand it over to parks whose responsibility it is to cut the grass. To say the DA is not fulfilling its duties is not true as the DA does not cut the grass in Durban North. I would therefore totally understand if the writer said ‘ANC-led council not fulfilling its duties.

It is also very important that any service-delivery issues are brought to my attention either by phone or email to ensure a quick response.
