Deaf boks to tour KZN
It's hoped the tour will go a long way to work towards affiliation with SA Rugby.

DEAF rugby may not get much media coverage but the South African Deaf Rugby Union (SADRU) is hoping to change that by raising awareness of the disability and the sport in the country. The union announced a historic tour of the SA Deaf Rugby Invitational Squad to KZN from 1 to 8 March.
Besides raising awareness the union’s aim is to enter the Deaf Rugby World Cup which will be held in England in 2015.
Currently the team is unable to represent South Africa at an international level as they are waiting affiliation from SARU, something that they plan on achieving within the next few months, following backing from at least four unions in SA.
The Deaf Boks as they are more commonly known will see the team take the first step of their long journey to reach the Deaf Rugby World Cup.
The 32 man team comprises of deaf and hard of hearing players from Western Province, Gauteng and KZN and will be coached by Kyle Bowe-Taylor and Luther Van De Merwe and backed by sports psychologist Dr Leon van Niekerk.
It’s hoped the tour will go a long way to work towards affiliation with SA Rugby.
