TWO roads in Kenville and Durban North respectively have been hit by copper theft. According to Lt Elvis Naidoo from Greenwood Park SAPS, an employee, of what seemed to be a security company, received an SMS from his control room informing him that there was no electricity in Gumtree Road, Kenville.
“On inspection, the man found that about 120 metres of copper cable had been stolen,” Lt Naidoo said.
In another copper theft incident, a man was on his way to Clarendon Road, Durban North to repair a street pole when he noticed cables were stolen.
“On his arrival, he noticed that copper cable was stolen from the road. No arrests or recoveries were made for either thefts,” he said.
