Husky the dog, alive and well

Husky is in good health but is very skittish and traumatised from being chased in attempted captures.

HUSKY the elusive security dog that evaded capture for five weeks has finally been found. The dog, a German Shepherd cross Husky had residents and its owners in a tizz after escaping from one of his handlers. Husky had then run into the bushes bordering the Mt Edgecombe housing estate.

Clint O’Reilly from Couver Security, who was frantically searching for Husky had all been given up hope when he received a call that Husky was alive and well and was in one of the resident’s yards.

“The resident didn’t know the dog was missing and its only when she found out Husky had been missing for some time, called me. He had come to her yard the night before and she’d given him some food. So when he came back the next night we were able to capture him,” he explained.

O’Reilly added Husky was in good health but was very skittish and traumatised from being chased in attempted captures. “We’ve taken him to the vet who’s given him a clean bill of health. He’s on a strict diet of chicken and other proteins to get his weight back up. I’d like to thank all the residents for their support and looking after him. It’s made my week to have him back,” he said.

Mt Edgecombe resident, Claudene Overy, who contacted Northglen News about the missing security dog expressed her delight that Husky was safe. “I would like to commend Clint on his dedication, care and concern over the last five weeks on trying to capture Husky.
