Two business robbed minutes apart
Two businesses were robbed in a matter of minutes by the same brazen gang.

TWO Effingham businesses, in the same block, were robbed just 15 minutes apart by armed men. In the first robbery, a couple was held up by two armed men at their shop in Effingham Heights.
According to police, the robbers went into the shop and pushed a woman towards the back of the shop.
“While the robbers were pushing her to the back of the store she slipped and fell to the ground. At the back of the shop one of the robbers then pointed a firearm at her husband’s head while they demanded cash. The robbers fled with cash and airtime valued at R2 200,” said Lt Elvis Naidoo, spokesman for Greenwood Park SAPS.
Just 15 minutes later, their neighbouring business was robbed by the same men.
The complainant told police she saw three men park a black Audi outside the shop. The men then jumped out the car, entered the shop and held the woman up at gunpoint.
“They threatened to kill her if she didn’t give them all the cash in the till. No shots were fired, no one was injured and no arrests have been made as yet,” Lt Naidoo said.
Cash, airtime and cigarettes, amounting to R10 000, were stolen.
