Man nabbed in uMhlanga

A local security company's response officers caught a thief red handed when he tried to break into a house in an uMhlanga complex.

A WOULD-BE thief got more than he bargained for when he was apprehended in uMhlanga recently.

An uMhlanga Manors resident noticed a suspicious person in the complex and contacted the ADT Security monitoring centre to request armed response.

Armed response officers, Delin Govender and Sibaya Ngcobo responded. The officers conducted a thorough search of the of the complex found a suspect hiding in the lower end of the complex.

The man was apprehended and handed over for arrest to the Durban North SAPS. He was found with a screw driver in his possession.

Martin Kriel, managing director of ADT Security east coast region, had the following advice: “Should you come across a suspect on your property, immediately contact your security service provider or the SAPS. Never confront them or attempt to capture the suspects because they may be armed and dangerous.”
