New trail run set for uMhlanga
The race begins at 6.30am from the Umhlanga Promenade. Entries will include a breakfast and finishing gift.

UMHLANGA Tourism and Riverside Trail wish to announce that entries are now open (www.roag.co.za) for the forthcoming uMhlanga/Durban Extravaganza Trail Run and Walk which takes place on 6 July. The event forms part of the popular annual Umhlanga Tourism Festival Trail series and promises to be better than ever.
Event organiser Buzz Bolton said the race offers a 6km, 12km and 18km route that will attract both novice and experienced trail runners. “The 6km route will incorporate a trip through a pristine forest while the 12km and 18km trails will give runners and walkers an opportunity to transverse testing hills, sugar cane breaks, river crossings and a beach section to conclude a fast and enjoyable run,” he said.
The race begins at 6.30am from the Umhlanga Promenade. Entries will include a breakfast and finishing gift. There will two refreshment stops on the longer routes and one at the finish.
The timing of the event could not be better. Comrades runners will be wanting to stretch those tired muscles and the cooler weather will make the journey lighter. Email buzzhilde@vodamail.co.za
