Trucker injured in N2 accident

A MAN was seriously injured after his truck overturned on the N2 south near the Sibaya off ramp this morning at around 6am.

“Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment,” said Chris Botha, spokesman for Netcare 911.

Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the one lane of the highway obstructed with the overturned heavy goods vehicle.

After assessing the scene they found that the driver escaped without injury while his assistant sustained serious injuries.

“The patient was stabilised at the scene before they transported him to a local hospital for the care that he required,” Botha added.
