uMhlanga domestic worker threatened and robbed at knife-point

Two men threatened a domestic worker at knife point during an attempted house robbery.

AN uMhlanga domestic worker was threatened at knife point in an attempted robbery on Westridge Road on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred at about 1am. Lt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, said two men jumped over the fence, walked into her room and held a knife to her neck.

“She was asked to give the men keys to the house, specifically to the bedrooms upstairs. The men said they would kill her if she didn’t comply. The terrified domestic worker then told the men she didn’t have any keys for the house.

“The men then took her cell phone and cash and jumped over the fence. The domestic worker then pressed the panic button but the men had already got into their getaway vehicle,” he said.

No arrests have yet been made.
